changing the color of your campground

Campfires are an indispensable part of camping, especially for winter campers. However, just sitting around the golden flames can often turn out to be monotonous. If you are bringing your kids with you, you can amuse them by changing the color of the flames into a more vibrant one.

The adults will also get entertained with the colored flames. You will become the center of attention among your neighboring campers. So, how can you change the color? This post will give you a clear idea.

You can either create your own fire color changers or use readymade products.

Creating your Own Fire Color Changers

You can create your own fire color changer using an old candle wax, paper cups and the chemical of your choice.

Use a double boiler or an old pot to thaw the old candle wax. You can get the boiler from a garage/yard sale and the pot can even be a discarded one. Even the candles can be cracked, chipped or melting away.

Next you need to lay out the paper cups and fill them with about ¼ inch of your choice-able chemical. Now, pour melted wax over the chemical that is in the cups. Stir it so that the chemical is fully covered with wax. Let the mixture cool overnight.
